gbcanhost

Company: gBCanHost

Responsibilities: Web design, development, and management

Description: Being a part of the ghostBone family, on the launch of gbCanHost – the hosting sect of the company – they had high expectations of me to provide a different feeling to the new company division, as well as the website. The website had to be different in a lot of ways. Instead of having a website that consisted of mostly static pages, the website had to be CMS-friendly, or, easier for the managers to edit the content of the website with me not around. Of course, at the time and a while after the launch of gBCanHost.com I was the content manager; however, I was not going to be sticking around forever. The website was finally finished the way I wanted. They were extremely happy with the look and feel of it. I admit, I was not into following W3C standards at that time at all. However, as a project for the summer, gBCanHost has given me the opportunity to work on it so the website is valid, in terms of the standards, and blends in but sticks out with the rest of the websites.

designstudio

Company: ghostBone – DesignStudio

Responsibilities: Web design, development, management, and consultant

Description: After years of satisfying clients as well as beginners (at Adobe Photoshop and HTML), ghostBone had decided to shift into a new gear. They were looking for a way to efficiently project their professionalism to their clients as well as initiate a way to fit into the phase of Adobe Photoshop and HTML tutorial websites. There was one solution: to split the website in half and come up with two unique sections, one corporate and one for resources. The corporate version, the one that dealt with clients and their web designing needs was now called DesignStudio.

digitalplayground

Company: ghostBone – DigitalPlayground

Responsibilities: Web design, development, management, and consultant

Description: Since the corporate version was now known as DesignStudio, ghostBone needed a new name for the resources section; something equally catchy but on the opposite side of the spectrum (so to speak). The decision was made and it was now known as DigitalPlayground. The name had been carried by ghostBone for a number of years when they were new in the “game,” however, it was later dropped for the sake of changing things up!

ittconsulting

Company: ITT Consulting

Responsibilities: Web design and development

Description: While with ghostBone, I had the chance to deal one-on-one with clients that needed a fresh new look. Since I did not have enough experience to handle bigger clients (like the ones ghostBone deals with now), I had a chance to take on the much smaller companies. ITT Consulting had asked us for one thing, pretty much: a small yet clean website. The clean part I understood in no time, since it is common in one of the requirements of any client. However, the “small” part left me a bit puzzled. What they meant was that, they wanted everything to be integrated in such a way that it was efficient and faster for their customers. It took me a while to understand what they meant, but I got there and they were happy with the results!

Colourings

Apart from being a blogger, web designer, and a shower-singer, I am also a Colourist. I choose to spell it that way only because it gives the word a more Canadian touch. Note: none of the original compositions were done by me; I just found them and coloured them! :)
